The Cubivan system aims to transform a regular van into a fully functional motorhome without the need for expensive and time-consuming body modifications. Presented at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, this development offers not just a set of modules, but a rigid structure that extends from the rear of the vehicle, instantly turning it into a mini-camper.
The main feature of Cubivan is its ability to unfold into a full living space. After extending from the van, the system increases the interior height to 1.9 meters, providing access to an integrated kitchen and a wet bathroom. The kitchen, equipped with a stove, sink, and refrigerator, folds compactly against the side wall, freeing up space for a portable toilet and shower. Importantly, the entire structure remains stable as it rests on the ground.
But the most unusual solution is the sleeping area. Instead of arranging it inside the cabin, Cubivan offers a rigid module that unfolds onto the van's roof. When folded, it does not exceed the vehicle's permissible height for driving, and when unfolded, it transforms into a spacious 2x2 meter bed, allowing you to sleep under the stars. The system is compatible with models such as the Volkswagen ID. Buzz, Ford Tourneo Custom, Volkswagen Caravelle, and Mercedes Vito.
Cubivan promises to be an interesting solution for those seeking flexibility and functionality in their travels without compromising on comfort. The system is expected to go on sale in 2027.
